What does creativity mean to you?

We want to hear your thoughts as part of our Voices in Psychology programme.

10 March 2025

To some, creativity means painting, doing crafts, baking, creating music, dancing, or writing. To others, it means inventive problem solving, thinking outside of the box, finding new ways of doing things, and bringing together logic and creative thinking.

For others, creativity is a core part of their identity which shines through in how they present themselves to the world. Or perhaps it means something else to you...

Maybe you enjoy creative pursuits outside of work, perhaps creativity is a core part of your work, or maybe you have ideas about how psychology can use creativity to further benefit the field. We want to hear your thoughts as part of our Voices in Psychology programme!

For your submission, address the prompt 'what creativity means to you' and feel free to get creative with the medium of your submission (although remember that the aim is for chosen submissions to be printed in The Psychologist!).

Submit to [email protected] by 2 June. We'll also be getting involved by reaching out to members of the Psychologist and Digest Editorial Advisory Committee to see what creativity means to them too!
