A very busy President
Tony Gale last interviewed Ingrid Lunt in The Psychologist in 1994 when she was Chair of the Professional Affairs Board. He managed to catch her for this brief conversation inbetween meetings.

You strike me as a pretty busy person. You are just completing a second term as President of the European Federation of Professional Psychologists Associations (EFPPA); why did you want to be President of the Society?
When I was asked to stand for election as President of the Society, I assumed that my EFPPA Presidency would be over. But then I was persuaded to do a further two years with EFPPA. I accepted the role of President because I believe in the Society. I had a number of ideas for how the Society could develop and several friends had told me these ideas would be generally welcomed. As you know I chaired two major Working Parties,2 which focused on the future of the Society, as well as chairing PAB and the International Committee. So I felt I had some overview of the Society and wanted to make some contribution to its development and to its leadership. My experience of work in the Society gave me the confidence, and made me believe that I could make a real contribution by helping to shape the Society's future.
