Radical and forthright, Craig Newnes offers a refreshing and alternative perspective on research in clinical psychology, epitomising the notions of free thought and innovation. He is based in Shrewsbury, where his work in adult mental health has long championed the ideas of anti-psychiatry and the views of users of mental health services. We discussed his research interests, the kinds of questions clinical psychologists might be asking, and the ways in which research can be made meaningful with respect to the needs of service users.
