The BPS Psychology Careers Festival is returning for its third year. The online event spans five days across four virtual stages covering career routes, newer psychological roles, and psychology-inspired jobs.
The festival's Main Stage will feature keynote speakers, including a talk on Tuesday 5 November about taking a holistic approach to staff wellbeing by Lecturer in Organisational Psychology Dr Kevin Teoh (Birkbeck, University of London). There will also be talks on educational psychology, health psychology, counselling psychology, and working in physical health settings.
On Thursday 7 November the Main Stage will feature a Research Day in association with the Senate House Library. This day will include talks on current issues in political psychology research, using AI in research data and analytics, and psychometric testing.
The festival's Pathways Stage will feature speakers who will share information on how to get into particular areas, including forensic psychology, academia, and working as a Mental Health and Wellbeing Practitioner, as well as information on gaining work experience and funding. The Inspirations Stage will highlight the varied ways psychology can be applied across a number of careers – including careers in government, using cognitive psychology in industry and the use of psychology in design.
Finally, the Learning Stage will host events aimed at supporting professional development including talks on preventing burnout, tips for international students, and working in professional sport.
