The British Psychological Society and Wiley have a new reviewer mentoring programme for early career researchers. The scheme will provide mentoring in peer reviewing from experienced mentors from one of six BPS journals to those in their early careers.
Applicants need to have an awarded doctorate in psychology or related field and hold a teaching or research post at an academic institution for no more than eight years. Successful applicants will receive training in best practice in peer review through the Wiley Reviewer Academy and will then be assigned a mentor at an appropriate journal to work one-on-one in peer reviewing a submitted manuscript, with the potential to eventually become an independent reviewer for the journal.
Certain under-represented groups are encouraged to apply including Black people, Asian people or those from Minority Ethnic groups, people with disabilities and those who identify as LGBTQ+.
