Getting back out and about

Our Editor, Jon Sutton, introduces October's issue of The Psychologist.

14 September 2022

By Jon Sutton

It has been quite the summer, getting back out to conferences and conducting face-to-face interviews. It can of course be stressful being back in the real world after Covid, and I'm under no illusion that Covid is over. But for many, 'digital travel' (see page 46, October 2022 issue) and hybrid events, although they have considerable advantages, just aren't quite the same. And that can be the case wherever you sit on the introversion/extraversion dimension.

Speaking with Professor Robin Banerjee, Professor Tom Ormerod and Shanu Sadhwani of the BPS-organised European Congress of Psychology scientific committee in Brighton gave insight into that special something, and what it truly means to 'congress'.

There's so much more to discover in October's issue of The Psychologist and, as ever, lots of online exclusives.

Our relaunched website remains very much a work in progress… please be patient, we'll get there! And we're proud of our rebuilt app, where BPS members can access all content from The Psychologist and Research Digest – timelines, editions, podcast and PDF.
