Editorial, April 2024

Fundamentally, I see The Psychologist as a magazine about Psychology and the world through the eyes of Psychologists and others. We seek to be personal, practical, persuasive.

You all have your journals, which of course we cover extensively through our Research Digest online. But what really engages me, and I hope you too, are people's stories.

When I do break free from my desk to make it around the country, I hear those stories. Of what drives you as psychologists, your passions and frustrations, and how what you do is often grounded in your local communities.

'Spotlight on Swansea' is hopefully the first of a series seeking to showcase those lives, and how varied and occasionally conflicting our discipline can be.

I'm also the first to admit that any magazine can lean too far towards the personal, so the second new series this edition sees Marcus Munafo bring the research, rigour and replicability as a new Associate Editor!
