Are you a UK early career member of the British Psychological Society? If so, there's a bursary available to attend (physically or virtually) any academic conference, either in the UK or internationally, relevant to your work.
Each bursary consists of up to £250 (UK) or £500 (international) to contribute towards the costs of registration and travel to attend the full conference.
Dr Nihan Albayrak-Aydemir, Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Open Psychology Research Centre, Open University, and Visiting Fellow at the Department of Psychological and Behavioural Science, LSE, was a recipient of the award last year. They told us: 'As a result of my attendance at this conference, I continued growing my international network in the field of political psychology and improved my international reputation as an early-career scholar in this field. Attending this conference also helped me receive constructive feedback on my work, especially from an interdisciplinary perspective, and to identify potential collaboration opportunities from other countries to plan and implement impactful research.'
Applications will open from Friday 25 August 2023, with a closing date of Sunday 8 October.
Visit the Bursary Scheme page for more information about the scheme and how to apply.
There is also a grant unlocking funding for Society Member Networks to host a symposium at an international conference.
Grants range from £1,500 - £3,500 and the initiative helps the BPS to showcase UK psychology to international audiences.
Each grant provides funding to contribute towards the costs of registration (for both physical and online events) and travel and accommodation (for physical events only) for the symposium convenor/moderator and participating symposium panellists.
The Research Board is keen to support the participation of early career researchers within the scheme and welcomes their participation in the symposium.
Applications will open on Friday 15 September 2023 and close on Sunday 5 November 2023.
