Update from the Chair of DCP London Branch - December '21
As we come to the end of the year, it feels timely to share important updates on our work and to outline the opportunities to contribute to the activities that are planned for 2022

Supporting developments in digital practice
Following the successful event on digital practice that we held earlier in the year, we are pleased to announce that new e-learning resources have been piloted with 50 trainees. Final revisions are being made in response to feedback, and the launch is due for 7 January with a digital conference to follow in February 2022.
Celebrating the first DCP England event
Held on 9 December, this half-day webinar focused on intergenerational trauma, sometimes referred to as trans/multigenerational trauma. It was a very powerful and thought-provoking event, which was well attended and organised through a collaboration between our branch, Kalpita Kunde as the DCP England Chair, and the chairs of two other branches – Aisha Mirza, DCP North West Chair, and Laila Jamil, DCP South West Co-Chair. It was a great opportunity to work together and there is a lot of scope for building on this next year.
Opportunities to join the DCP London committee
There are some vacant positions that members can apply for. Statements of interest must be submitted by Friday 4 February 2022, and appointments will be ratified at the committee meeting on Friday 18 March 2022. For details of the available positions and how to apply please see our microsite, or the notice at the end of this newsletter. Please also feel free to contact me if you would like to have an informal discussion about the work of the committee and the roles that are available.
Clinical Psychology Forum (CPF) special issue on climate change
The recent special edition of CPF on climate change is now available online, and is free for everyone to access. The August 2020 special edition is there too, so both can be downloaded and circulated.
London Psychological Professions Network (PPN) update
The London PPN will be celebrating its first year on 14 January 2022. There will be a morning of updates from across the region, including sessions on staff health and wellbeing, trauma-informed care and young people's mental health. The link to the session will be shared widely with trust leads and all London PPN members. Further information about the network is accessible online. If you missed the PPN conference in November, you can still access the sessions through the conference website.
Save the date for our next event
Our next event is due to take place on the morning of Friday 18 March. This will be focused on tackling social class and class-based inequalities, which is the new BPS policy campaign. Further details to follow soon.
