Qualification in Counselling Psychology – we need your input
Members will know that the Qualification in Counselling Psychology is currently under review.
21 May 2024
Our colleagues in the Qualification Leadership Team are submitting their proposal for the revised QCoP to the Qualifications Committee in early June.
We have had many emails and messages from members and stakeholders telling us how important the QCoP is, expressing concern about recent BPS decisions and offering support in advocating and lobbying for the Qualification as an important contribution to the development and standing of our Counselling Psychology profession.
The QCoP QLT now need your support.
If you are an employer, commissioner of services, other stakeholder or member who has qualified, or is training, through the independent route, the QLT would like to include your views in their proposal for the revised QCoP.
- Why did you choose to study via the QCoP route?
- What benefits do Counselling Psychologists who are qualified through the QCoP route bring to your service?
- How does the flexibility of the QCoP meet the needs of your service, or the needs of QCoP candidates with diverse needs and characteristics?
Comments needn't be lengthy, but we would like to encourage as many of our colleagues and stakeholders as possible to take this opportunity to contribute their views regarding the QCoP.
There is a tight time-frame, so we would welcome your comments and testimonials by 31 May.
Please send your email to [email protected] by 31 May 2024.
On behalf of the Division, our members and our colleagues in the QLT, we thank you for your support.
- Dr Sue Whitcombe, Chair BPS Division of Counselling Psychology
