New occupational psychology publication launches today
Occupational Psychology Outlook (OPO) is the new peer-reviewed title of the Division of Occupational Psychology.
21 December 2022
It aims to provide a bridge between occupational psychology research and practice, bringing the two together in a single publication, and to highlight hot topic and trends among other things.
Janet Fraser, chair of the DOP, said the division was very proud and excited about the new title.
It will provide relevant, peer-reviewed articles from across the five areas of occupational psychology and help members keep up-to-date with new developments.
She added:
The title will also create opportunities, for example to get published for the first time; this can be a challenge especially for early career psychologists but we are keen to showcase their work alongside practitioner papers and research.
As well as that there will be continuing professional development opportunities through reviewing papers, which is a good way to 'give back' to the profession too.
"Of course, OPO will also raise the visibility of occupational psychology and show how we can help organisations and workers.
Included in the first edition of the publication are articles on 'Energy-saving work engagement and climate concern, 'A different perspective on inclusion and culture' and 'A bottom-up approach to employee retention.'
The title will be published three-four times a year. If you are interested in submitting an article for the next edition, or in reviewing submitted papers, please get in touch at: [email protected]
OPO is free for DOP members and future issues will be available for purchase by anyone else.
