New chair of Ethics Committee announced
The BPS is pleased to announce Dr Roz Collings as the new chair of the Ethics Committee.
25 October 2022
Dr Collings is currently Principal Lecturer and Head of Psychology (Curriculum) at the University of Wolverhampton and the Editor for Research into Higher Education Abstracts.
As chair of the BPS's Ethics Committee, Dr Collings will head up the group which is responsible for promoting the ethical practice of psychology and for the Code of Ethics and Conduct and other ethical guidance.
Speaking after her appointment as chair, Dr Collings, said:
"My vision for the Ethics Committee within the BPS is to open dialogue, discussion and debate. My priority is to shift our understanding of ethics, so it is viewed as more than just an administrative step, and an ethics committee is not the 'devil at the gate'.
What I hope to achieve as chair of the Ethics Committee is a sustainable, forward-facing strategy that will create discussion and involve more individuals in ethics."
