New chair of Board of Trustees appointed

The BPS has appointed Dr Carol Cole as the new Chair of the Society's Board of Trustees.

The BPS has appointed Dr Carol Cole as the new Chair of the Society's Board of Trustees.

A chartered member of the BPS, Carol began her career as a clinical psychologist and then as a change management consultant in the NHS, before working in organisation development, applying psychology to the design and delivery of strategic transformation with individuals, teams, and boards in the UK and abroad. 

Carol has significant experience of leadership and governance across numerous boards and committees in the public, private, government and charitable sectors including recent and current governance roles with Age UK, the University of Roehampton, Together for Mental Wellbeing and Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust.  

BPS President, Dr Roman Raczka, said:

"I am delighted to welcome Carol as our new BPS Chair. Carol brings a wealth of experience to the role, and I very much look forward to working with her on the Board". 

Commenting on her appointment, Carol said:

 "As a Society member since university, I care deeply about the BPS. This is an extraordinary opportunity to harness my love of Psychology with fostering a board culture of capability, collaboration and achievement which helps showcase the best that the Society and Psychology can offer." 

Dr Cole will take up her position immediately.
