New BPS Division of Coaching Psychology announced
We are pleased to welcome the re-designation of the Special Group in Coaching Psychology (SGCP) to a new Division of Coaching Psychology after society members voted overwhelming in favour of the resolution at this week’s Annual General Meeting.

Jonathan Passmore, SGCP chair said:
"This moment has been 20 years in the making and I'm delighted to take this step forward.
In our pursuit of continuing to develop and promote the profession of coaching psychology for the benefit of our members and the clients we serve, we believe that gaining parity with other domains of practice was essential.
With this new status we can start establishing education, training and the professional recognition of coaching psychologists to ensure that everyone has access to psychological support, without restrictions or barriers.
We hope that the formation of a Division of Coaching Psychology and all that brings will have a wider impact on the coaching industry, driving up standards, expanding research, and encouraging coaches to embrace evidence based practice.
The current SGCP committee is working with the society to make the transitional arrangements and it is hoped these will be in place by November.
We look forward to an exciting future for the network, its members and the profession."
