Welcoming the government's new Men's Health Strategy. Chair of the British Psychological Society's Male Psychology Section Benjamin Hine said:
"We welcome the government's first ever Men's Health Strategy, in particular the focus on mental health and suicide prevention.
"Last year, there were just over 6,000 registered deaths caused by suicide, three quarters of whom were men. Preventative measures are urgently needed to improve this stark situation.
"We will be responding to the call for evidence in due course, and encouraging our members to do so as well, in response to this vital issue."
