This paper has been prepared to assist Commissioners in understanding how Clinical Psychologists can contribute to the implementation of the Mental Health Strategy. Brief examples are included to demonstrate effective interventions that reduce costs. Mental health, well-being and talking therapies have become strategic priorities for the NHS. Effective psychological interventions and therapies can contribute not only by improving the health and well-being of individuals but also the health of the nation through employability, productivity and social inclusion.
