The Zen Buddhist Roots of Mindfulness-Based Psychological Therapies
- Counselling and psychotherapy

Join us for a thought-provoking discussion with Matt Furnell on the Zen Buddhist roots of mindfulness practices that form the foundation for modern mindfulness-based psychological therapies.
Matt is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) with teaching experience across China and the UK. He is a certified Meditation Facilitator and NeuroMindfulness Coach with qualifications in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Meditation Awareness Training (MAT).
His research focuses on the role of Buddhist meditation in promoting well-being, prosocial behaviour, and supporting individuals in overcoming addictive behaviors.
After Matt's presentation, there will be a chance for a Q&A style interactive discussion where Matt can provide further insights answering any questions you may have.
