Understanding Workplace Loneliness

In this themed online networking event Dr. Siyao Zhu and East of England committee chair, Prof. Annilee Game, will discuss research on loneliness at work. In the era of hybrid and remote working, loneliness is increasing, with important consequences for employee wellbeing and productivity.
Participants at this event can also meet fellow members of the Branch, find about the EoE committee's work and how to get involved, and suggest ideas for future branch activities.
The aim of this event is to foster a sense of community by providing a forum for BPS East of England members to network around a theme of broad psychological interest

About the speakers
Dr. Siyao Zhu
Siyao is a Lecturer in Organisational Behaviour at Norwich Business School, University of East Anglia. Her research interests include work meaningfulness, workplace negative emotions, and leader-follower relationships. Her current research project examines how the perception of co-worker loneliness triggers employee affective and behavioural responses.
Professor Annilee Game
Annilee is chair of the BPS East of England Branch. She is Professor of Organisational Psychology at Norwich Business School, University of East Anglia where she is Director of Staff Development and leads the MSc Organisational Psychology. Her research focuses on leadership, workplace relational dynamics and wellbeing.
