Join the DOPNI Committee and Professor Yseult Freeney at The Europa Hotel, Belfast from 3-5pm on 02 May to network over coffee and hear about Yseult's research.

Work engagement, or thriving at work, relies on a sustainable balance between challenges and resources.

Drawing on research conducted in Ireland and published in international journals, this talk will present three contextual phenomena where workers can be challenged in protecting their well-being and enjoyment of work.

These distinct contexts help us to better understand what is most important for experiencing meaningfulness, engagement, well-being and sustainable careers.

Examining research on new ways of working, including hybrid and remote work; large scale studies of work engagement; and in-depth analyses of women's more punctuated careers, this talk will emphasise the importance of autonomy - in all its forms; competence; and relationships as a fundamental toolkit for all those working to improve people's working lives.

Attendees will have the opportunity to discuss how best to apply self-determination frameworks to shape future workplaces where employees can thrive.
