Safeguarding for psychologists - what do we need to know?
- Professional Practice

If you have had safeguarding training in the past and are looking for a refresher, this webinar could be for you.
It is not a formal "Levelled" training (e.g. Level 3) but an opportunity to take time as psychologists to recap and refresh our knowledge on the legislation, core principles and best practice issues surrounding Child Safeguarding Practice Reviews (formerly Serious Case Reviews).
Given its breadth, this will be a pacy canter through relevant information and common dilemmas.
It will have relevance across all psychology disciplines and all manner of different settings in which we work.
This webinar will be recorded. The recording will be available for 12 weeks after the live session.
This webinar is available to book until 7 April 2025, 9:30am and is available in English only.
Attendees of this webinar will receive a Certificate of Attendance.
Learning outcomes
By the end of this course, you'll be able to:
- Refresh participants' knowledge on the principles, statute and best practice relating to safeguarding practice (both adults and children).
- Increase participants' confidence in ensuring best practice as we engage with the dilemmas and the grey areas.
- Increase awareness of the available learning from Child Safeguarding Practice Reviews (formerly Serious Case Reviews) and public inquiries.
- Provoke thought and reflection about our practice.
Is this course right for me?
Whilst anyone is welcome, this course is not aimed at anyone completely new to safeguarding, as a basic level of knowledge and experience is assumed.
