QMiP is 20: An Oral History Event
- Qualitative Methods

As the Qualitative Methods in Psychology (QMiP) Section, celebrates 20 years, they invite you to join this oral history event where they will collectively reflect on QMiP's legacy, the impact of the committee's leadership and the potential futures for qualitative research in psychology. This event is free to attend for BPS members.
This live discussion will feature a panel of previous – and current chairs – of QMiP:
- Anna Madill
- Rachel Shaw
- Peter Branney
- Joanna Brooks
- Simon Goodman
- Laura Kilby
- Sarah Seymour-Smith
There will also be written reflections shared by QMiP's first chair Zazie Todd.
This will be a unique opportunity to hear from those who helped shape QMiP; a chance to explore the Section's origins, challenges and successes. The event will be recorded and preserved in the BPS archive as a historical record and accessed by future researchers when researching the history of psychology. After hearing about our past, we hope you can then join us in Leeds from 9th - 10th July, as we continue our celebrations at the QMiP 2025 Annual Conference.
