Dr Andrea Giraldez-Hayes CPD (Co-Lead for DOCP Committee) will be joined by  guest speaker Iain McCormick PhD, (Schema and Executive Coach, Auckland, New Zealand) for this interactive session exploring the psychological basis of coaching.

This session will equip you with evidence-based approaches, statistical methods, and psychometrics to enhance your coaching effectiveness. You will consider how to apply psychological principles to understand human motivation and drive meaningful change in your clients. 
The session will delve into therapeutic methods that can be adapted for coaching, offering practical tools to foster personal and professional growth. The workshop will also introduce Schema Coaching, an approach rooted in cognitive and emotional patterns, providing a concrete example of how psychology can shape impactful coaching strategies. This session will deepen your understanding of the science behind coaching, helping you create lasting, transformative change.  

This session will not be recorded. Participants will be expected to have their 'cameras on' and to participate in the event.

Learning Outcomes 

Participants will: 
- Understand the impact on evidence-based statistical methods and psychometrics 
- Understand human motivation  
- Become familiar with therapeutic methods and their application to coaching 
- Observe an example using Schema Coaching
