The event will be of interest to those who may be considering developing new pathways or further developing existing pathways within services as well as those who may already be in or would be interested in working in one of these roles.
The event will include input from a range of speakers including those who oversee service pathways, those working in these roles, and those offering training for these roles.
We are also hoping to include the voices of those who have benefitted from working with peer recovery workers as part of their recovery journey from an eating disorder.

Speakers
We have a range of speakers joining us at the event. These include:
- Catherine Perry from South London and Maudsley NHS Services, who is a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist by training and has overseen the development of the Peer Support Workers within an Adult NHS Service.
- Charlotte Long who had a lead role in the development of the FREED Peer Support Pathway in Lincolnshire.
- Jess Griffiths who has historically worked as a Peer Support Worker and now amongst a range of other roles oversees the FREED Peer Support Project in 3 sites (Cornwall, SLAM, Lincolnshire).
- Umairah Malik who is a trainer on the BEAT Eating Disorders Peer Recovery Worker Training.
- Kirsty Armstrong who is a Peer Recovery Worker working for providers within the South Yorkshire Provider Collaborative including input into one of the SEDU providers Riverdale Grange.
- Emily Elson is a Professional Lead who has set up a Peer Recovery Network to provide support to Peer Recovery workers in Midlands
- Esther Greaney – Peer Recovery Worker
- Dean Bourne – Peer Recovery Worker
We are hoping to supplement this with further expert by experience speakers.
