Solutions and Actions for a Better Future
Building on our previous theme of Vulnerable Men and Boys, this year's conference shifts focus towards solutions and actionable strategies to address a broad spectrum of challenges facing men and boys today. Our goal is to not only highlight the critical issues but to explore interventions, support systems, and positive policy changes that can make a tangible difference in the lives of men and boys across society.
Call for Presentations
We invite presentations that focus on practical approaches to improving outcomes for men and boys, backed by research, professional practice, and theory development. Topics for this year's conference include, but are not limited to:
- Mental Health and Suicide Prevention: Strategies for reducing male suicide rates, improving mental health literacy, and early intervention.
- Male Victims of Violence: Effective support systems for male survivors of domestic abuse, sexual violence, and violent crime.
- Education and Work: Addressing educational underachievement, supporting boys in school, and promoting healthier work-life balance for men.
- Fatherhood and Family Breakdown: Solutions for improving father involvement post-separation, reducing conflict, and supporting positive co-parenting.
- Vulnerable Groups: Addressing the needs of men and boys in the care system, prison, probation, and those experiencing homelessness.
- Physical and Sexual Health: Body image issues, substance misuse, and promoting healthier masculinities.
- Intersectionality and Identity: Exploring the unique challenges faced by men across different cultures, ethnicities, and social backgrounds.
Focus on Action
This year's conference will emphasize tangible strategies for change. We are particularly interested in presentations that highlight:
- Policy Recommendations and Advocacy: Practical changes for legislation, service provision, and institutional reform.
- Innovative Programs and Interventions: Case studies of successful initiatives and their impact.
- Collaboration Across Sectors: Opportunities for partnerships between researchers, practitioners, and policymakers.
Who Should Submit?
We encourage submissions from researchers, clinicians, educators, policymakers, and community leaders who are committed to improving the well-being of men and boys through actionable insights and strategies. We are particularly interested in hearing from grassroots organisations that directly work with men and boys, and have valuable insights to share.
