January Blues and New Year's Resolutions - A North West Branch Networking Event
- Mental health
The British Psychology Society North West Branch is delighted to bring our first network event for 2025 with the University of Chester on 16th January 2025.
This event will allow space for networking with other BPS members in Chester and surrounding area.
The theme of the event is new year goal setting. We will hear from Dr Janine Carroll from the University of Chester. Janine is a Senior Lecturer in Psychology and has worked at the University of Chester for over 10 years. Her interests lie within the domain of health psychology and include the use of emoji's in communication and health and the use of virtual reality on mental health. There will be chance to engage with the session and meet other attendees.
After the Christmas holidays, many people can experience what is called the "January Blues". This is where we can sometimes feel tired, in need of a break and lack motivation to do anything. In this event we'll discuss the different ways of coping with the January Blues, and even give some a go to see if they work for us! We will also consider the impact of New Year's Resolutions (which are often made with good intentions but difficult not to break!), how we can use our environment to help us feel better and think of other imaginative ways of beating those 'blue' feelings.
