Online workshop

Research indicates that around 1 in 3 adults in England report having experienced at least one traumatic event, and that traumatic experiences can have detrimental implications to both ones physical and psychological well-being.

Following attendance of the online workshop, delegates will have a stronger foundation of knowledge into the physical and psychological responses to trauma, and in turn be able to better support individuals in their service delivery who may have experienced trauma.

Delegates will be better able to identify impacts of trauma, understand the biological and psycho-social basis to trauma and be able to apply their learning into their roles by tailoring their approach and service provision accordingly.

The webinar will not upskill delegates on trauma recovery interventions, rather build their base knowledge to apply in their roles.

Learning outcomes

By the end of the workshop, delegates will:

  • Be able to explain what is meant be trauma, identify different traumatic events and understand the impact that trauma can have on an individual
  • Understand the influence of neurobiology, psychology and social factors on an individual's response to trauma
  • Understand recent trauma-neuroscience updates and translate these into usable knowledge
  • Be aware of different techniques to help you to recover from trauma and /or best support someone who is experiencing trauma
  • Reflect on their own experiences and consider how they will apply their learning to their lives and roles
