Group coaching: The new ‘Wild West of coaching’
- Coaching

This is the third of our bimonthly Journal Clubs where you will gain increased competence and confidence relating to Coaching Psychology Chartership Standards.
We plan to hold the Journal Club on the fourth Wednesday of alternate months starting in January. They are exclusively for DOCP Members and will not be recorded.
The Journal Club is an ideal way to sharpen your skills in research methods whether you are working towards Chartered Membership or are seeking to maintain your Chartered Status.
About this session
The session relates to BPS Standard Two for Coaching Psychology through the lens of the paper "Wild West of coaching".
We will learn more about the subject area and research methodologies and discuss the concepts in the safe setting of DOCP's Journal Club.
Led by Dr Andrea Giraldez-Hayes, with guest speaker Dr Ana Paula Nacif , we will talk about group coaching, a modality that has gained significant popularity. It offers valuable support to individuals within communities and organisations across various sectors.
We will explore group coaching as a unique intervention, comparing it with other group-based practices such as team coaching, action learning sets, and training.
We will examine how group coaching can be effectively deployed to add value to clients in diverse contexts.
Additionally, we will review current empirical evidence on group coaching and explore how the practice is evolving.
