Phase two of our 'Psychology and the climate crisis' series, this event will bring together leading voices in the climate change adaptation space and offer an opportunity to:
- explore the results of our community consultation exercise
- learn from the latest research on climate change adaptation
- discuss the role of psychologists in supporting individuals and communities to psychologically adapt to climate change
- network and learn from colleagues working in other psychology disciplines
This event will offer a mix of engaging speakers and workshop activities to support your professional development and inform your work as a psychologist.
We also hope the day will offer you an opportunity to connect with fellow professionals who care deeply about what is happening to our planet. There is power in community!

We are delighted to announce our speakers as follows:
Dr Elizabeth Marks - Dr Liz Marks is a Clinical Psychologist, an accredited BABCP practitioner and a mindfulness teacher. She is a Senior Lecturer in Applied Clinical Psychology at the University of Bath. Her clinical and research work focuses on understanding the drives of psychological distress that arises in relation to the climate and ecological emergencies, and how we can best respond.
Isabella Fisk - Isabella Fisk, Transforming Care Practitioner for Learning Disability and Voluntary Sustainability Champion in Somerset Foundation NHS Trust. Qualifications include BSc Psychology at the University of Exeter and MSc Forensic Psychology with Counselling at the University of Bath. She has a publication in the Journal of Ecopsychology and is currently completing an Ecopsychology Foundation Course with the Natural Academy.
Dr Jan Maskell - Dr Jan Maskell CPsychol Registered Occupational Psychologist. Jan is a consultant Business Psychologist and Sustainability Consultant who works with individuals and organisations helping them to develop their leadership skills and environmental management systems. She applies psychology to leadership and to issues such as pro-environmental behaviour change and corporate responsibility. Jan has a doctorate from Lancaster University in Educational Research. Jan is a member of the BPS Climate and Environmental Action Group
Dr Stacey Heath – Dr Stacey Heath is a social psychologist and lecturer at the Open University. She adopts an interdisciplinary approach to her research which seeks to understand the ways in which social psychological theories and geographical contexts can assist in the exploration of contemporary social and environmental issues.
