About the event
Bridgitte Calder (Principal Forensic Psychologist; Cygnet Health Care) will present on the role of compassion in clinical practice.
Bridgitte will talk about what it means to turn towards suffering with the kindness, wisdom and courage needed to navigate and alleviate it, and will discuss the importance of maintaining a compassionate stance in all areas of psychological practice including providing therapy, responding to crisis, completing assessments, delivering training, conducting consultancy, leading others and sustaining our own resilience.
The talk will be followed by an additional hour dedicated to networking.

About the speaker
Bridgitte is a Principal Forensic Psychologist who currently works on a CAMHS low secure ward with young people under section who have experienced trauma and present with increased risk to themselves and others.
She is the founder and chair of a compassionate care special interest group which set out to cultivate compassionate care across her organisation nationally.
Bridgitte's main areas of expertise are trauma-informed care, trauma therapy, creative therapeutic approaches, compassionate care and compassionate leadership.
