About the Event
Online Conference
Taking place on Friday 2nd May at 09:15 - 16:00.
It is no longer a question on if but how AI will transform the work of psychological practitioners. What is AI and how can we harness its powers to enhance the service we offer to our clients? What risks might it pose for us ethically and practically as practitioners? In the UK, the Long Term Plan (NHS England, 2019) and Darzi Review (2024) of the NHS suggest an ambitious digital future in mind across physical and mental health services which focuses on greater use of genomics and artificial intelligence (AI) to support prevention, wellbeing and more personalized care for patients outside of the hospital. They note that digital mental health is a significant area of potential growth. The focus is on 'enabling technologies' which will support staff to deliver improved care able to be delivered remotely and in the community. AI, for example, will be used to automate routine tasks to increase productivity, especially in a context where demands on the workforce have been high.
This online conference will consider what practitioners, service providers and commissioners need to consider to work towards a digital future which includes effective use of AI in psychological services. It will help participants to consider what some of the opportunities and risks might be of using AI for psychological practitioners.
