- Careers and professional development
The 2025 All-Ireland Psychology Careers Event will take place in the MacNeill Theatre, Hamilton Building, Trinity College Dublin (TCD) from 9:00 am - 3:30 pm on Saturday 01 March.
The Careers Event is jointly run by the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) and the Northern Ireland Branch of the British Psychological Society (NIBPS).
This is the 20th time the event has been co-hosted and we are delighted to return to Trinity College Dublin (TCD) this year. Our thanks to the TCD School of Psychology for kindly hosting and supporting the Careers Event.
This annual event provides information on careers in and with psychology, including pathways into careers in the main areas of professional psychological practice.
The target group is 2nd/pre-final year undergraduate/first qualification in psychology students, with final year students welcome subject to space.
Registration is essential.
The day will start with a presentation on the pathways for applying for postgraduate and professional training programmes on the island of Ireland, highlighting common aspects of applications, key experiences relevant to applying for postgraduate training, and tips for enhancing your application.
Following this, three panel discussions will feature speakers from various specialisms, including Clinical, Counselling, Educational, Forensic, Health, Occupational, Neuropsychology, Research and Teaching, and Sport Psychology.
These discussions will focus on what it's like to work in these areas, how to enhance your chances of accessing training, top tips for success, and the opportunities available within each field.
A fourth panel discussion will spotlight careers in psychology, emphasising the diverse roles and pathways that psychology graduates can pursue.
Complimentary tea and coffee will be available during the morning break. Lunch will not be provided, however, delegates will receive information on available options for purchasing lunch on the day.
