Committee on Test Standards – invitation to apply for membership

The deadline for applications is 30 May 2025.

The Committee on Test Standards (CTS) is inviting applications for membership from Chartered Psychologists who have expertise in psychological testing, with specific domain knowledge in neurodiversity

The Committee is responsible for developing standards and promoting good practice in the use of psychometric tests.

A key element of our strategy involves supporting practitioners who use tests to do so in a fair and equitable manner, with due concern for how to approach testing with a wide range of clients.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about high standards in test use, with a keen interest in the emerging evidence in this evolving area.

This role is about ensuring the committee attends to the relevant issues surrounding assessment and testing with neurodiverse clients, thereby helping to ensure the best outcomes for all.

The committee has developed standards and guidance for test use in Applied Psychology, with specific test user qualifications within Educational, Forensic, and Occupational settings.

We are also developing the guidance documents we produce to ensure a broader reach into a wider range of testing issues and concerns, with neurodiversity being one of those areas.

The committee is keen to receive applications from academic or practitioner colleagues who have expertise and interest in psychological testing in the following domains

  • Clinical
  • Counselling
  • Educational
  • Forensic
  • Health
  • Neuropsychology

The term of office is for three years for this co-opted member role which is on a pro bono basis.

The committee generally meets three/four times a year and some commitment between meetings will be required to progress projects.
