Looking to the future
Thanks to the passion and the work of our volunteers and all of our members, we’re far closer to becoming the home for psychology in the UK that we all want the society to be.

Our change programme will be picking up even more pace during 2020, and you can get involved from January by adding your thoughts to our member journey project.
We're working with a company called The Social Kinetic to find out what routes you take to becoming members, and where we can offer you more, but we need the honest thoughts of members to inform our future.
Once we return from the Christmas break, we'll be launching an online survey where you can tell us about all the things that you wish that we did better, and times when we could've been more helpful during your career.
We'll combine the findings from this with those from the numerous interviews and focus groups which we're holding with members to help us build a picture of what the BPS can become, and how we can offer you a new experience as members.
The world around us is changing quickly, and we need to stay relevant by making sure that our offer to you is fit for the realities of the 21st century and reflects the role of a modern psychologist.
As we move into a new decade, it's vital that we look to the future and ask what role psychology has to play in this ever-evolving world. We need to think about how we, as your membership body, can help psychologists to achieve genuine change.
Registration for our 2020 conference is opening shortly, and it'll be focused on the future. We want to find out how psychological approaches can help to tackle some of the big questions which society is still grappling with.
We'll be covering the future of society, the future of the workforce, and the future of research. This covers climate change, poverty, the rise of artificial intelligence and the question of trust in science, as well as a whole lot more on top.
If you're working in an area which you think can inform in one of these areas, or are interested in hearing the perspectives of psychologists from across the UK and beyond, I hope to see you in Leeds in on 30 June and 1 July 2020.
