It's nearly time

We’re all set to welcome psychologists from around Europe and beyond to Brighton for the European Congress of Psychology next week.

30 June 2023

This event has been years in the making and will be the first time that the congress has visited these shores for two decades, so we can't wait to get things underway with the opening ceremony on Monday 3 July.

Following on from the opening ceremony, for which we're delighted to be joined by the fantastic Brighton Gay Men's Chorus, we'll have three days of keynote addresses, symposia, presentations and other sessions, packed with the latest in psychological research.

I know that a number of our members will be coming along, some of you to present your own work and others just to experience the congress, but we'll also be keeping everyone who can't make it to Brighton up to date during the week.

Our Twitter account will have updates from the event and content from some of our speakers, and you can join the conversation using the hashtag #ECP2023. The BPS and ECP websites will also be sharing news and articles during and after the congress.

ECP 2023 is a major event for the society to be hosting, with more than 1,000 delegates set to join us, but if you've never attended one of our events before then it's only one of the many events that the BPS organises across a range of venues and platforms, and on all areas of our discipline.

During the Covid-19 pandemic we began hosting regular online conferences and webinars, and these have continued as in-person events have returned, allowing us to offer something for everyone. You can keep across all of our upcoming events in our weekly events email to members and through the listings on our website – we'd love to see you at one soon.

Finally, as you'll have seen in Member Update, our Annual General Meeting is coming up on 26 July. This is an opportunity for our members to find out more about the society's work and ask any questions you might have about it – if this is of interest, I would encourage you to join us for the AGM and submit your question for us to answer.
